There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

My adventure in Alaska continues. I continue to pray that God will give me strength to live each day. There are many times a day I just want to give up. Please God give me strength!

As many of you know, I have been living in my van for nearly a full month. It is 2:31 AM and the mosquitoes are driving me crazy. It’s not so much the biting as it is the noise. I cover my head and I can hear them buzzing around.

Alaska is the prettiest place I’ve ever been but it has its negatives. Right now, it is daylight nearly 24 hours a day. The mosquitoes are relentless and Hell bound.

My previous Landlord has a place for me to live in a primitive apartment near my previous apartment. It will be free and I think I can move over there on June 17 or so. I hope. It will be primitive, but at least I can close the door and have the ability to cook food, etc..

Each night, I need good rest. But living in the van makes that difficult. It’s daylight outside most of the night. The mosquitoes are buzzing all around. And the cars are zooming around outside in the parking lot so, I may sleep for five hours a night at the most.

Also, this week the temperatures are abnormally higher, and it makes it very difficult to be in the van.

Yesterday, I was tempted to do something wrong. The temptation was so strong. I almost caved, but I did not. I felt bad that I almost caved or gave in, but part of me was thankful that I did not. It gave me strength, knowing that I won that victory.

My new job as laboratory manager continues. The guy training me can be a jerk and then sometimes he can be good. He will be gone in a month and I will take over completely. I am still amazed that God gave me this job out of nowhere. It’s crazy to think that this job appeared out of nowhere and I got the job.

Everything about the new job is new to me. It’s not like I’ve been in the industry for 20 or 30 years. I have never done this work in my life. I am learning everything just like a new employee. To me, it’s amazing and obviously the hand of God.

I miss my wife and children. My wife really stabbed me in the back and hurt me deeply. For her own soul sake, she needs to repent of what she did to me. I stand prepared to forgive her and love her, like Christ loved the church (Eph 5:25).

Yes, I believe in Jesus. Yes I believe divorce is wrong, etc. I always feel like I need to put that in my prayer request otherwise people will respond negatively towards me.

So, I continue to request prayers. I trust that God is working in ways that I would not grasp or fully understand. I also trust that God is working in her life.

Please continue to pray for me:

Continued strength.
Reconciliation of marriage
Be a good manager
Learn what I need to learn a new job
Family back together is one
Get out of this van and into a home

Thank you!

We join you in lifting up your concerns to the Lord. Seeing you believe in Jesus and affirm the sanctity of marriage, we stand with you in prayer and encouragement.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. James 5:16 WEB

Firstly, we commend you for your faith in Jesus Christ and for resisting temptation. We trust that God will continue to give you strength to endure and overcome, but we need to pray specifically about all of this. We also acknowledge your commitment to your marriage, even in the face of deep hurt. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 WEB

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ. Thank You for Your faithfulness in his life, even in the midst of his trials. Lord, we ask for Your strength to fill him. When he feels like giving up, remind him of Your promise that You will never leave him nor forsake him. Hebrews 13:5 WEB

Lord, we pray for his marriage. We ask that You soften his wife's heart and bring her to a place of repentance. Guide them both as they navigate this difficult season, and if it be Your will, restore their marriage.

Father, we also pray for his new job. Thank You for this unexpected blessing. We ask that You give him wisdom and discernment as he learns his new role. Help him to be a good manager that displays Your love and kindness, and let him be a light in a dark place.

Lord, we pray for his living situation. We ask that You provide a home for him, a place of refuge and peace. Guide him in this transition and give him patience.

Finally, Father, we pray for his family. We ask that You draw them all closer to You, and if it be Your will, reunite them in Your timing.

We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Regarding another issue, you mention temptation. We encourage you to flee from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB

Continue to resist temptation, and remember that God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB

We encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and sustainer of our faith. Hebrews 12:1-2 WEB

Lastly, remember that the Lord can use all things for good, even your current struggles. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB

We're right there with you, praying for strength and endurance as you navigate through your Alaska adventure. It's tough, we know, with the relentless daylight, the mosquitoes, and the challenges of living in your van. But remember, God is with you, and He's using all these things to mold and strengthen you.

We're also lifting up your marriage situation. It's hard to be separated, and the hurt runs deep. But we trust that God is at work, even in the midst of this pain. We're asking Him to soften your wife's heart, to bring her to a place of repentance, and to guide you both towards reconciliation. We're also believing for a miracle, that your marriage can be restored according to God's will.

Your new job is an unexpected blessing, and we're asking God to give you wisdom and discernment as you learn your new role. We're believing that you'll be a light in that workplace, displaying God's love and kindness to those around you.

Lastly, we're praying for a place to call home. We're asking God to provide a place of refuge and peace for you, a place where you can rest and recharge.

We're trusting God for all these things, and we're believing that He's going to come through for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that He's got this. You're not alone in this fight.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
