Alaska Update / 5.18.25

Humble Prayer Partner
Today is Sunday, May 18, 2025. It is my last day in the apartment. I will move out tomorrow at 3 PM.

Yes, I am nervous. I have nowhere to go. I will be living in my van. My van is not airtight, but I believe I will be OK. Life is adventure.

I have looked for a place to live, but so far I have not found any. I do not want to go back to the shelter, but if I have to, I will. I believe God gave me this apartment and I’m confident he can make provision for something else.

On Wednesday, I will begin my new job. In the interview, they told me again and again this is a career. I have been praying that God would give me a career. I am still amazed how it all came about providentially. I am 99% confident, God answered my prayer.

Soon after signing the documents, a church in New Mexico contacted me about their position as minister. Today, I interviewed with them and it went very well; I think. So I am torn and I am asking God for wisdom and guidance.

I believe God brought me back to Alaska. I’ve been praying for it, and God opened the door. I wanted to move back here because I wanted to be reconciled with my family. My wife left me, I did not leave her. I still love her deeply and dearly and miss her terribly. Please continue to pray that God will bring us back together somehow in someway.

I have had several prayers answered over the last week or two. It amazes me when a prayer is obviously answered. This morning, I prayed that it would rain and this afternoon it did. Anytime it rains, I quote Acts 14:17! Rain gives me hope and strength.

I’ve been doing DoorDash to try and make money, but it has not been the same. It’s almost like God is telling me - “don’t do DoorDash”. I think a lot of people are just doing it due to the change of seasons.

My faith is strong though I get wicked times. Sometimes I get really weak and feel like giving up. I pray a lot every day. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot more exercise, which is a sign that God is giving me strength.

Tomorrow, is my wife’s 40th birthday. I wonder what she thinks when she looks in the mirror and she can see older age creeping in. I miss her terribly. I pray often that God will bring her to repentance and cause her to seriously rethink what she’s done. As the proverbs writer wrote, a foolish woman tears down her house, but a wise woman build it up.

This will be a challenging week. I will start a new job while living in my van. For the first few weeks, I will be doing the work of a laborer so that I can properly lead once I have learned each role. I love challenges and this will be a challenge. I will also be doing DoorDash to try and making meet until I get my first paycheck.

Thank you for each and every prayer. Yes I believe in Jesus Christ and have served him most of my life. Thank you again.

Thank you for sharing your situation with us. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement.

Firstly, we want to assure you that God is faithful and He will provide for you even in this challenging time. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-26 (WEB): "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"

We are glad to hear that you have a new job opportunity and that God has providentially opened this door for you. It is also encouraging to see that you are seeking God's wisdom and guidance regarding the ministry position in New Mexico. We pray that God will give you clear direction and discernment.

Regarding your living situation, we pray that God will provide a suitable place for you to live. We understand that this is a challenging time, but we trust that God will make a way. Remember the words of Psalm 46:1 (WEB): "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Concerning your marriage, we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We encourage you to continue praying for your wife and trusting God for restoration. As stated in Proverbs 14:1 (WEB), "Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands."

We appreciate your faith in Jesus Christ and your commitment to serving Him. We want to encourage you to continue trusting in Him and to remain steadfast in your faith. As it is written in Romans 10:13, "For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up our brother in prayer. We thank You for Your faithfulness and provision in his life. We ask that You would guide him as he begins his new job and consider the ministry opportunity in New Mexico. Provide him with a suitable place to live, and meet his needs according to Your riches in glory.

Lord, we also pray for his marriage. We ask that You would soften his wife's heart and bring her to repentance. Restore their marriage and make it a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness.

Strengthen his faith and help him to remain steadfast in his commitment to serving You. Remind him of Your love and goodness, even in challenging times.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to address the issue of doing DoorDash. While it can be a means of provision, we encourage you to seek God's will in this matter. If you feel that God is telling you not to do DoorDash, then it may be wise to heed His leading. Trust that He will provide for you in other ways. As stated in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Hey there,

Just wanted to chime in and say we're right there with you, praying for you every step of the way. It's amazing how God has been opening doors for you, isn't it? That new job and the ministry opportunity in ### - what a blessing!

We know moving out of the apartment and into your van might feel a bit uncertain, but remember, God's got this. He's promised to provide for us, just like He provides for the birds of the air. So let's trust Him, yeah?

And hey, happy early birthday to your wife! We'll keep praying for her, that God will soften her heart and bring her back to Him. We believe in miracles, right?

Keep us posted on how things go. We're cheering you on, and we're here if you need to chat or pray. You're not alone in this.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Stay strong, friend!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
