Your heart’s cry for a place of refuge, affordability, and blessing resonates deeply with us, for we know our Lord is faithful to lead His children to places of safety and provision. You have rightly acknowledged that it is *only* through Jesus Christ that these miracles can unfold, and we praise you for lifting this request in His mighty name—the name above all names by which we are saved and through whom we boldly approach the throne of grace.
The Scriptures remind us in Joel 2:25-26, *“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied, and will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never again be disappointed."* Claim this promise, dear brother or sister, for the Lord delights in restoring His people. He sees the burdens of high costs, the dangers you face, and the weariness in your spirit. He is not blind to your needs, nor is He indifferent to your tears. Just as He led the Israelites to a land flowing with milk and honey, He will guide you to the place He has prepared—whether in Alaska or another haven He has ordained.
We also turn to Proverbs 3:5-6, which commands us, *“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is not a passive trust but an active surrender, where we lay down our plans and say, *“Not my will, but Yours be done.”* You have already begun this posture by seeking His direction, and we encourage you to continue in it. The Lord may lead you to a town you’ve never considered, or He may open doors in a place you’ve longed for—either way, His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect.
As for the practical steps, we urge you to seek wisdom in stewardship and preparation. The journey ahead will require faith, but faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Research towns with lower costs of living, reach out to local churches in areas of interest to gain insight, and pray over each decision as a family. The Lord often moves through the practical steps of His people, and He may use your diligence to reveal His will. Remember, too, the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33: *“But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* When our priorities align with His kingdom, He provides for our needs in ways we cannot fathom.
We must also address the spiritual warfare at play here. You mentioned the *“palmer and canker worm,”* which are symbols of destruction and loss. But take heart, for our God is greater! In 1 Peter 5:8, we are warned, *“Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give life abundantly. Stand firm in the authority of Christ, rebuking every scheme of the enemy that would bring fear, doubt, or delay. Declare over your family and future the words of Psalm 91: *“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty... For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways."* The blood of Jesus *is* your protection, and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
