There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

I feel like my life is closely paralleling the life of Job. Since moving back to Alaska, I have suffered so many different setbacks. I’ve worked so hard and yet I keep falling backwards.

In August 2022, my job in Alaska was complete. My wife and daughter were preparing to head overseas to visit a family my sons and I headed to Texas to start the new job and set up our new home.

After I left Alaska, my wife hired an attorney and went to court and convinced the judge that I had taken the boys across state lines. It was all a lie. I knew nothing about it. I was 5000 miles away however, in late September, my wife and a sister in Christ went to Texas and took my sons from me. It was one of the most painful days of my life.

I prayed fervently. I must’ve prayed over 1 million times for my family, reconciliation, etc. I prayed that God would take me back to Alaska.

Finally, in the summer of 2024, the providential hand of God guided me back to Alaska. I received a job in Alaska as a teacher. My former temporary company gave me a free first class flight to Alaska and so I went. However, I did not have a place to live or a car to drive. I was trusting God for all that.

Since I have been back in Alaska, I have suffered greatly in every way. I feel like Job the teaching job that I moved here for ended in November 2024. It was a contract issue due to no fault of my own later. I secured another job as a laboratory manager, and it ended three weeks later another high paying job was offered to me, but then over the weekend they gave it to another person. So many setbacks that I’ve tried to overcome, but keep getting pushed back.

I lived at the homeless shelter for 4.5 months. Then I lived in a nice apartment for 4.5 months. I then had to move out because she used it for Airbnb so I lived in the back of my van for 28 nights. The lady didn’t allow me to live in her primitive basement for 4.5 months for free. I then moved into a free apartment for four months for the VA.

I can see the hand of God and all of this; however, I’ve suffered greatly, and I am in great distress.

I lost my job at the lab on June 16, 2025. Since then, I’ve been doing gig work. But then I started having van problems which hindered my work. It’s like any time I got anything positive going in my life it failed. I fixed the van. I had three blowouts in six weeks I fixed. Then I had a serious issue which caused my van to be unavailable for four or five months. So, I rented a car from November until February. Then the prices start going up too high.

Now, I got my van back, but then the van died. And so I did not work for a month. Now, I got a rental car for nearly $57 a day which is a lot, but I have to make more than that. I’m trying so hard God please help me.

I am literally hanging on by a thread. I’m so sick right now. I’ve been sick for like five days. The kind of sickness where you can’t hardly do anything I need strength because I’ll have to go to work if I don’t make money that I’m gonna be in big trouble in five days. God, please help me.

I’ve been through so much and I am exhausted. I am not suicidal, but I have pleading with God to exchange my life or another. I’m so exhausted from trying to live and make it in this old world.

I miss my children so much. I continue to pray, fervently for reconciliation. I’m not a perfect man, but I’ve always been a forgiving man. I stay prepared to forgive my wife for the terrible things. She’s done to me. I stand prepared to love her like Jesus, loves the church that’s my sincere desire.

Please pray for ###

I need to get over this sickness so that I can get to work and make the money I need to make to pay the bill bills. I need to pay so that I can live.

We hear your cry, brother, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. Your suffering is deep, and your perseverance in the face of such relentless trials is a testament to the strength God has placed within you. You are not alone in this—though the weight of your circumstances may make it feel that way, the Lord sees every tear, hears every prayer, and holds your future in His hands. The story of Job is indeed a sobering parallel, but remember: Job’s suffering was not without purpose, and neither is yours. Though the enemy seeks to break you, God is using this fire to refine you, to draw you closer to Himself, and to prepare you for the restoration He has promised.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare at play in your life. The enemy has attacked you on every front—your family, your livelihood, your health, and your peace. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The lies that have been spoken over you, the betrayals you have endured, and the setbacks you have faced are not the end of your story. We rebuke the spirit of despair, confusion, and delay in Jesus’ name. We command every assignment of the enemy against your life, your children, and your future to be dismantled now. The Lord says in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Hold fast to that promise.

Your marriage and family are under attack, but we stand with you in prayer for reconciliation. The pain of being separated from your children is unimaginable, and we grieve with you. However, we must also speak truth: the actions of your wife in taking your sons from you under false pretenses were not of God. Marriage is a covenant, and God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), but He also hates deception and injustice. We pray that the Lord would soften her heart, bring conviction, and lead her to repentance. We pray that the legal system would be used for justice, not manipulation, and that the truth would come to light. But above all, we pray that God would restore your family according to His will. You have shown a Christlike heart in your willingness to forgive, and we encourage you to continue walking in that spirit, even as you seek justice. Remember, vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He will repay.

Your financial struggles and job instability are not a reflection of your worth or your efforts. The Lord sees your diligence, and He has not forgotten you. We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty over your life. The Word says in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We declare that doors of opportunity will open for you—doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We pray for favor in your job search, for divine connections, and for provision that surpasses your understanding. Your van troubles, your rental expenses, and every financial burden are temporary. The Lord is your provider, and He will sustain you.

Your physical sickness is another attack, but we command your body to be healed in Jesus’ name. Isaiah 53:5 says, *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* We pray that the Lord would strengthen you, restore your health, and give you the energy you need to work and provide for yourself. We also pray for wisdom in managing your health—rest when you can, seek medical care if needed, and trust that God will carry you through this season.

We must also address the exhaustion and despair you feel. It is understandable to cry out to God in your weariness, even to the point of asking Him to take your life. But we remind you of Elijah, who also reached a point of utter exhaustion and despair (1 Kings 19). God did not rebuke him for his honesty but met him with rest, provision, and a renewed purpose. You are not alone in feeling this way, and your feelings are valid, but we encourage you to cling to hope. Psalm 34:18-19 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* You have endured so much, but God is not finished with you. He is using this season to shape you, to teach you, and to prepare you for the blessings ahead.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up every burden he carries. Lord, You see his pain, his exhaustion, and his heartache. You know the depth of his love for his children and his desire to be reconciled with his wife. We ask that You would move mightily in his family, softening hearts, revealing truth, and bringing restoration according to Your will. Father, we rebuke every spirit of division, deception, and delay that has kept him from his children and from peace. We declare that the enemy’s plans will not prevail, and that Your purposes for his life will be fulfilled.

Lord, we pray for provision. You know his financial needs, his job struggles, and the weight of his responsibilities. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity, provide favor with employers, and meet every need according to Your riches in glory. We speak stability over his work, reliability over his transportation, and wisdom over his finances. Let him see Your hand moving in his life, even in the smallest details.

Father, we pray for his health. Strengthen his body, heal his sickness, and renew his energy. Give him the stamina to work and the peace to rest. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed, and we command every sickness and infirmity to leave his body now.

Lord, we pray for his spirit. The enemy has sought to break him, but we declare that he is not broken—he is being refined. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Remind him of Your faithfulness, even in the darkest valleys. Give him hope for the future and the strength to endure. Surround him with Your presence, and let him feel Your love in tangible ways.

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears, a God who sees, and a God who acts on behalf of Your children. We trust You to turn his mourning into dancing, his sorrow into joy, and his trials into testimonies. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to hold on. This season is not your forever. The Lord is with you, and He will not abandon you. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep standing on His promises. You are not forgotten. You are not forsaken. And you are deeply loved.
