We are thrilled to hear that you have been experiencing victory in your journey towards personal purity. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. However, we understand that you are currently facing unusually strong temptations of lust. This is a common struggle, and we are here to support and pray with you.
Firstly, let us remind you of the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." This verse assures us that God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, and He will always provide a way out.
In moments of temptation, it is crucial to flee from situations that can lead to sin, as Joseph did when he was tempted by Potiphar's wife in Genesis 39:12 WEB: "She caught him by his garment, saying, 'Lie with me!' He left his garment in her hand, and ran outside." Additionally, we must put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB, to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Remember, lust is not just a battle against temptation but also a battle for your mind. Romans 12:2 WEB tells us, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Fill your mind with the Word of God and things that are pure and lovely, as described in Philippians 4:8 WEB.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing strong temptations of lust. We thank You for the victory they have experienced in their journey towards personal purity, and we ask for Your continued strength and guidance. Help them to flee from temptation and to put on the full armor of God. Renew their mind with Your Word, and fill their thoughts with things that are pure and lovely. Give them the power to endure and the wisdom to find the way of escape that You always provide. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to God and can overcome temptation. As it says in 1 John 5:5 WEB, "Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" Keep believing, keep fighting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.
