After I Left The Friendship

I am blamed for all the recent problems a friend has but all these problems came AFTER I left the friendship. She wasn't treating me as a friend anymore. I felt I was just there to stroke her ego. Other than that my services weren't needed and any dialog we had was one sided, it was all about her. Now I'm forced to bear the burden of shame, guilt, or the consequences for another’s offense or irresponsibility? I loved her and yet,I found myself on a dizzying roller coaster ride of emotions. You want to help a scapegoater, and with every failed attempt, you are rewarded with more blame. Once you become the scapegoat, even when you are minding your own business, being responsible, and not part of the problem, you are still blamed. Scapegoating is insidious, unhealthy, and dysfunctional and I pray I escape being the target of scapegoating ever again.  Jesus my friend who I miss was treated in this manner early in life and learned this from being raised around this action. Please break her away from it's bondage in the name of Jesus Amen
