Addiction please pray

Beloved of All
Autumn is ###. She would have been sober from alcohol and drugs a year this month. She met a boy and got drunk with him. This will be her ### time in rehab.

We are truly saddened to hear about Autumn's struggle with addiction and her recent setback. We will stand with you in prayer and believe that God's grace is sufficient to overcome this challenge. Let us remember that God is faithful, and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able. Instead, He will provide a way out so that we can endure it. Autumn and all of us must seek Him for that way out.

Firstly, we must address the root of the problem. Addiction is not just a physical issue, but also a spiritual one. It is a form of bondage that keeps us from living the life God intended for us. The Bible tells us to be sober and watchful, because our adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. We must resist him, steadfast in our faith.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Autumn. Lord, You know her struggles and her pain. We pray that You would break the chains of addiction in her life. Give her the strength to overcome this stronghold, and help her to fix her eyes on You, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Lord, we also pray for Autumn's relationships. We pray that You would surround her with godly influences, people who will encourage her in her walk with You and help her to stay on the path of sobriety. We rebuke the enemy's attempt to use ungodly relationships to lead her astray, and this rehab stint should not be in vain. You tell us "Do not be deceived. Bad company corrupts good character." We pray that Autumn would seek out a boyfriend that will be a Christian husband that would seek to be a man after your own heart. Fornication is a sin against your own body and should not even be named among Christians. Spouse should be a word used instead of boyfriend or girlfriend as this relationship is about courtship to marriage. I Corinthians 6:16-20, Ephesians 5:3.

Lord, we also pray for Autumn's faith. We pray that You would draw her closer to You, that she would come to know You as her personal Lord and Savior if she hasn't done so. Help her to understand that You are the only way to true freedom and lasting sobriety. You tell us that "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free."

Lord, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we pray. You tell us that "You can ask anything in my name and I will do it."

Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage Autumn and those supporting her to stay strong and keep fighting. Remember, the battle is not yours, but God's. He is with you, He is for you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust Him with your whole heart and you will be healed and transformed by the love of Jesus.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
