Disciple of Prayer
I prayed to hear God's voice and heard the word acceptance. I then said I accept the fact that it may not be God's will to restore us.
It really hurt saying out loud and made me cry intensely but briefly then brought a release and a peace. This doesn't mean it isn't His will and I will still pray and cling to that with faith and hope.
However, my focus and shift has altered from it MUST be God's will to it may not. It's an important distinction. I still love her, want her, desire her, our restoration, our marriage better than ever, a future together, but also hold a duality, not contradiction, that it may not happen. It's still faith, still hope, still love, still longing for reconciliation and restoration, but it's more detached and I believe I am now in submission to God about this, and my future, and following Him. Praying for confirmation that this is from God with peace and not giving up on restoration or our marriage. I don't think it is but I've never been in this situation before and want to do right and well and God's will for my life and our marriage. Could use encouragement, wisdom, discernment and confirmation about this and that it's not deception or something not of God. Thank you.

We understand the deep longing in your heart for restoration, and we commend you for seeking God’s will above your own desires. The peace you describe after surrendering to His sovereignty is a beautiful testament to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. You have touched on something profound—true faith is not demanding that God conform to our will, but trusting Him even when His plans differ from our deepest hopes. This is the essence of submission, and it is pleasing to the Lord.

The Scripture reminds us in **Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB)**, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* You are walking in this truth by releasing your grip on the outcome while still hoping in God’s goodness. This is not a contradiction but a mature faith that says, *"Not my will, but yours be done"* (Luke 22:42). Jesus Himself modeled this in Gethsemane, and you are following in His footsteps.

We also recall **Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)**, which says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* The peace you experienced is a divine confirmation that you are aligning with His will. It does not mean you have given up on restoration—far from it! It means you are trusting God to work in ways that may exceed what you can imagine. He may very well restore your marriage in a way that brings Him greater glory than you could have planned. Or, He may have a different path—one that still leads to His perfect purposes for your life.

That said, we must gently but firmly address something critical: your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to place your full faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and trusting in His finished work on the cross. Without this foundation, no amount of surrender or submission will bring the peace and eternal security God desires for you. If you have already done this, then we encourage you to always approach the throne of grace *in His name*, for it is through Jesus that our prayers are heard.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, thanking You for the work You are doing in his heart. Lord, You see his longing for restoration, his love for his wife, and his desire to honor You above all else. We ask that You confirm to him—clearly and without doubt—that this peace he has received is from You. Guard his heart against deception, and let Your Holy Spirit continue to guide him into all truth. If it is Your will to restore this marriage, we pray You would move mightily, softening hearts and breaking down every stronghold that stands in the way. Give him wisdom to wait on You, strength to trust You, and grace to walk in obedience, no matter the outcome.

But Father, above all, we pray that his greatest desire would be for *You*—not just for restoration, but for Your presence, Your will, and Your glory in his life. If there are areas where his heart still clings too tightly to his own plans, gently loosen his grip and fill him with an even greater hunger for You. Remind him that You are enough, even in the waiting. Surround him with godly counsel and community to uphold him in this season.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or confusion that would try to creep in and distort the clarity You have given him. Let him walk in the assurance that You are good, You are sovereign, and You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him see Your hand at work in ways that leave no room for doubt.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through His Word. Meditate on passages like **Psalm 37:4-5 (WEB)**, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Notice the order: *delight* in Him first, and then trust Him with your desires. He is faithful. Keep praying for your wife, not with desperation, but with faith that God can change hearts. And remember, even if restoration does not come in the way you hope, God’s plan for you is still good. He may be preparing you for a future you cannot yet see—one where His purposes for your life unfold in ways that bring Him glory and you joy.

Stay steadfast. Keep your eyes on Jesus. And trust that the One who began this good work in you will carry it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

We're right there with you, friend, in this journey of faith and surrender. It's encouraging to see the shift in your heart, from a demanding "must be God's will" to a more accepting "may not be," yet still filled with love, hope, and longing. We've been where you are, and we know it's not easy, but it's a beautiful place of trust and dependence on God.

We've also felt that peace you described, the one that comes after surrender. It's a sweet, yet sometimes confusing, peace. It doesn't mean God isn't going to restore your marriage, but it's a reminder that His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He might have a different plan, one that's even better than we could imagine.

We want to echo the encouragement to keep Jesus at the center of your prayers. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). It's through Him that we have access to the Father, and it's in His name that our prayers are heard (John 14:13-14).

We're praying for you, dear friend. We're asking God to continue to fill you with His peace, to guide your steps, and to give you wisdom and discernment. We're also praying for your wife, that God would soften her heart and draw her closer to Him. We're asking that, no matter what happens, you would both grow in your love for God and your love for each other.

Remember, God is good, all the time. He loves you more than you can comprehend, and He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Trust Him, even when it's hard. He's got this.

Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep trusting. You're not alone in this. We're here with you, and so is the entire body of Christ. Let's walk this path together, one step at a time, in faith and in love.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting you and your marriage before the Lord in these past days. Your heart’s cry for submission to God’s will—even amid the deep longing for restoration—has moved us, and we’ve been praying earnestly that the Lord would meet you in this place of surrender with His perfect peace and clarity. The raw honesty in your words reflects a heart that is truly seeking Him above all else, and we believe He honors that deeply.

We’ve been asking the Father to confirm His will for you in unmistakable ways, whether through His Word, the counsel of wise believers, or that quiet, steadfast assurance only the Holy Spirit can bring. Your willingness to hold both hope and surrender in tension is a testament to your trust in Him, and we’re praying that He would guard your heart against discouragement or confusion as you wait. This is a hard road, but you’re not walking it alone—we’re still here, standing with you in faith that God will lead you forward, step by step.

If the Lord has spoken to you in these days—whether through a renewed sense of peace, a scripture, or a clear answer—we’d love to rejoice with you in a praise report. And if you’re still waiting, still wrestling, we invite you to share an update so we can continue to intercede with you. This journey isn’t linear, and we’re committed to praying for you as long as it takes.

May the Lord bless you with the courage to follow wherever He leads, the wisdom to discern His voice, and the deep, abiding assurance that He is good—no matter the outcome. We’re clinging to His promise that He works all things for the good of those who love Him, and we’re trusting He’s doing just that in your life and marriage.

In Jesus’ name.
