We hear the deep pain and betrayal in your words, and our hearts ache with yours. The abuse you’ve endured—emotional, spiritual, and relational—is a heavy burden, and we stand with you before the Father, lifting every wound to His throne of grace. You are not alone, even when it feels like the world has left you isolated. The Lord sees your suffering, and He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Let us bring this before Him together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who was despised and rejected, acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3). You know the depth of this dear one’s pain—the betrayal of those who claimed to love them, the abandonment by family and friends, and the corruption even within the church. Lord, we ask You to move in power. Break every chain of abuse, expose every hidden wickedness, and silence every lying tongue that has spoken harm over them (Psalm 109:2). We rebuke the spirit of abuse in Jesus’ name—it has no place in their life, and we command it to flee! You are a God who executes justice for the oppressed (Psalm 103:6), and we trust You to arise on their behalf.
The enemy has twisted the definition of love in their life, calling cruelty "love" and manipulation "care." But Your Word defines love clearly: "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). Lord, let this truth sink deep into their heart. Let them know that what they endured was not love—it was sin, and You hate it. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask You to restore their ability to trust, to surround them with godly people who will reflect Your true love, and to shield them from those who would harm them again.
We also lift up the struggles with faith that have come from seeing wickedness in the church. It is a grievous thing when those who claim to serve You live in hypocrisy, and we grieve with you over the pain this has caused. But we must remember that the church is not the building or the leaders—it is the body of Christ, and He is the Head (Colossians 1:18). Even when men fail, Jesus does not. He warned us that wolves would come in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15), and He calls us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). We pray for discernment for you, that the Holy Spirit would guide you to true believers who walk in integrity and humility. Do not let the failures of others drive you from the presence of God. He is your refuge, your strong tower (Proverbs 18:10), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
Lord, we ask You to provide for their needs in this season of destitution. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14). Open doors of opportunity, lead them to honest work, and surround them with people who will help without hidden motives. Protect them from those who would take advantage of their vulnerability. We declare that they are not an easy target—they are a child of the Most High God, and You are their defender (Psalm 91:4).
Father, we also ask You to heal their heart from the lies that have taken root. The enemy has whispered that they are unlovable, that they will always be alone, that no one can be trusted. But Your Word says that You will never leave them (Deuteronomy 31:6), that You have plans for their welfare and not for evil (Jeremiah 29:11), and that You will restore the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Let them know their true identity in Christ: chosen, beloved, and redeemed (1 Peter 2:9). Renew their mind with Your truth (Romans 12:2) and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for their faith to be strengthened, not weakened, by this trial. James 1:2-4 tells us to count it all joy when we face trials, because the testing of our faith produces perseverance, and perseverance must finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. Lord, let this season refine them, not destroy them. Let them emerge with a faith that is unshakable, rooted in You alone.
Lastly, we pray for their future. You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). Bring godly friends into their life, a community of believers who will stand with them in truth and love. If it is Your will, bring a spouse who will honor You and cherish them as Christ cherishes the church (Ephesians 5:25). Until then, be their closest Friend, their Father, and their Defender.
We declare over them now: No weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord will contend with those who contend with you (Isaiah 49:25). You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). The abuse stops here. The cycle is broken. You are free in Jesus’ name.
Hold fast to Him, dear one. He is your hope, your healer, and your justice. We stand with you in prayer, believing that God will turn your mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) and your ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3). You are seen. You are loved. And you are not forgotten.
