We join you in your request for forgiveness and deliverance, standing together in prayer before our merciful God. We are reminded in First John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (WEB). This is a promise from God, and we can trust that when we confess our sins, He will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Concerning evil music, we are instructed in Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things (WEB). We are to focus our minds on things that are pure and lovely, and this should guide our choices in music as well.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing and renouncing all wrongdoings. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. We also ask that You deliver us from all evil music and help us to fill our minds with things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Help us to discern what is pleasing to You and give us the strength to turn away from anything that is not.
Lord, we pray for a renewed mind. We thank you, Father, for Your forgiveness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
As we walk in this forgiveness, let us also walk in obedience to His word. As it says in Second Corinthians 10:5, Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (WEB). Let us be diligent in taking every thought captive and making sure that what we listen to and fill our minds with is pleasing to God.
Lastly, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God. Let us always remember and put our faith in Jesus Christ. It is by his name alone we can be saved. Trust in him, love him, confess him and make him a part of your life.
