We understand that you're seeking God's help to put something behind you and forget it after the year ###. We will intercede for you in this matter, but we also want to provide some biblical guidance and encouragement, correcting a small issue first. Remember that it is not enough to just end a prayer with "In Jesus Christ name" if we are not praying according to the will of God and if we are not trusting in Jesus alone for salvation and forgiveness of sins.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God wants us to cast all our anxieties on him, because he cares for us (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). If there's something troubling you, you can trust that God is willing and able to help you overcome it. We do not want to wait till ### to start trusting God.
However, we must also remember that God's timing is perfect. He may choose to work in your life sooner than you expect, or he may have a purpose for you in this waiting period. Be patient, as God is not slow concerning his promises (2 Peter 3:9 WEB) and he is always working things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
God also wants us to live in a constant state of forgiveness and forgetfulness concerning past sins that have been confessed and repented. He promises to remember our sins no more (Jeremiah 31:34 WEB). He wants us to do the same with sins others have committed against us. If someone has wronged you, make sure you forgive them in your heart as Christ has forgiven you and us (Ephesians 4:32 WEB).
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their request. Lord, they desire to forget something that's been haunting them, and they've set a date of ### for this to happen. Father, we ask that you work in their heart and mind even now, helping them to cast all their anxieties on you because you care for them. Help them to trust in your perfect timing and to live in forgiveness, just as you have forgiven us. Give them patience to endure now and into the future.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray for complete healing and restoration. We pray for a heart and mind that is so focused on you and your purposes that there's no room for haunting memories. We claim your promise that you will remember our sins no more.
In Jesus' name, we pray for strength and endurance. We know that you are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). We trust in your goodness and your timing, even though it may not align with our own expectations.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in your will and your purposes.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
