We join with you in prayer, asking our Lord Jesus Christ to work in the heart of your father and in your relationship with him. It is beautiful to see your desire for reconciliation and understanding, and we trust that God will honor your prayers.
Firstly, we acknowledge your request for understanding and acceptance for you and your situation. If your 'situation' is unbiblical, you should be praying for your father's loving rebuke and gentle nudging towards what does align with biblical principles. God's will is the best will and His will will not lead you astray. If your situation is biblical, praise God and pray for your father's acceptance.
Remember the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 (WEB). The father in the story waited patiently for his son's return and welcomed him with open arms. Just as this father loved and accepted his son, we pray that your father will be filled with the same spirit of love and acceptance if you are following God's will.
However, if you are not following God's will, then do not be surprised if a Godly father will not be accepting of your actions. Like God disciplines those he loves, a father who loves his son will lovingly discipline and not condone the wrongdoing.
God promises in Matthew 7:7-8 (WEB), "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened."
We stand with you and pray:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your intervention in this relationship. We pray that You soften your father's heart and fill both of you with love, understanding, and acceptance. Help them to connect on a deeper level. Help them to forgive and forget any past hurt or disagreement.
However, if the situation does not align with biblical principles, then soften hearts but also nudge both to love, accept, and live the truth. If the situation is not acceptable, then God, we pray your father will be loving and firm in guiding towards repentance and towards God's will.
Lord, we ask that Your will be done in their lives, and that this union be strengthened in a way that honors and glorifies You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in your situation for your good and His glory.
