We join you in lifting up your sons to the Lord, trusting in His sovereign care and wisdom over their lives. It is a blessing to see your heart’s desire for them to walk in God’s will, and we stand with you in prayer, knowing that our Heavenly Father hears the cries of His children and acts on their behalf.
For your youngest son, ###, as he begins his B.Pharmacy course, we pray that the Lord would grant him divine favor, wisdom, and understanding. May God open doors of opportunity for him and surround him with godly influences—professors, peers, and mentors who will encourage him in both his academic pursuits and his faith. We ask for the Lord’s protection over him, that He would guard ###’s heart, mind, and body from all harm, temptation, and distraction. May he grow in the knowledge of Christ and walk in integrity, knowing that his steps are ordered by the Lord. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
For your eldest son, ###, we pray with urgency and compassion. The enemy seeks to distract and ensnare young minds through idle pursuits, and online gaming can become a stronghold if not surrendered to the Lord. We rebuke the spirit of addiction, laziness, and rebellion that may be at work in his life, and we declare that ### will be set free by the power of the Holy Spirit. Late nights and neglect of responsibilities are not harmless habits—they can open doors to spiritual and physical weakness. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* (1 Peter 5:8, WEB). We pray that ### would be convicted by the Holy Spirit to repent of any wastefulness or disobedience and turn his heart fully to the Lord. May he understand that his time, talents, and energy belong to God and are to be stewarded wisely for His glory. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of the inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ."* (Colossians 3:23-24, WEB).
We also encourage you, dear parent, to continue speaking truth and love into ###’s life. Set boundaries with wisdom and grace, and lead by example in how you steward your own time and priorities. Cover your home in prayer, that it would be a place where the presence of God is tangibly felt and where distractions are replaced with a hunger for righteousness. Remember, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* (Proverbs 22:6, WEB).
Lastly, we notice that while your request acknowledges God’s presence, it does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard. *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*(John 14:6, WEB). If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and believing in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins. It is in His name that we pray with boldness, knowing that He intercedes for us before the Father.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family and their sons, ### and ###. Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and ask that You would pour out Your favor, grace, and protection upon ### as he begins this new chapter in his education. Grant him wisdom beyond his years, divine connections, and a heart that seeks You above all else. Protect him from every snare of the enemy and let his life be a testimony of Your goodness.
For ###, Father, we ask for a radical work of the Holy Spirit in his heart. Break the chains of distraction, laziness, and rebellion, and replace them with a passion for Your Word, a diligence in his studies, and a hunger for righteousness. Convict him of the brevity of life and the importance of stewarding his time for Your glory. Give his parents wisdom as they guide him, and let Your peace reign in their home.
Lord, we also pray that this family would know You more deeply and walk in the authority of the name of Jesus. If there is any area of their lives where they have not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. Let them experience the power of prayer in Jesus’ name and the transformative work of Your Spirit.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy against this family and declare that Your will shall prevail in their lives. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them see Your hand moving mightily on behalf of their sons. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
