I will say it until it begins to take root: PROPHECY and PREACHING the gospel are two very different things, with two very different set of instructions. The Old Testament book of Ezekiel provides excellent example of God's instructions for a prophetic calling. When prophesying to a city or nation, God instructs His prophets to as follows:
Isaiah 58:1 (NIV)
"Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people THEIR rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob THEIR sins."
Therefore, there is no such thing as casting pearls in a prophetic assignment. Moreover, those who call me an accuser are thereby calling God "the devil": for, I am only following God's instructions. Yet, this city's ongoing, rebellious response to me, and to the message is exactly as scripted:
Isaiah 30:10 (NLT)
They tell the seers, “Stop seeing visions!” They tell the prophets, “Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.
Because I had the audacity to open my mouth and tell my hometown about her atrocities, as God commanded, I was cast out, just as He predicted. Nevertheless, whether the assignment (in a given season), is to preach the gospel or to speak prophecy, when the servant is cast out, God reassures us as follows.
Isaiah 66:5 (NLT)
Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his Word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for My name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but He shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
Likened to Jesus, not only does being cast out number us among the homeless, but being inhumanely thrown in jail also counts us among criminals.
Jeremiah 14:13 (NLT)
Then I said, “O Sovereign LORD, their prophets are telling them, ‘All is well—no war or famine will come. The LORD will surely send you peace.’”
But, thus saith the LORD,
Lamentations 2:14 (NLT)
Your prophets have said so many foolish things, false to the core. They did not save you from exile by pointing out your sins. Instead, they painted false pictures, filling you with false hope.
What is God's assessment of such miscounsel?
Jeremiah 14:14 (NLT)
Then the LORD said, “These prophets are telling lies in My name. I did not send them or tell them to speak. I did not give them any messages. They prophesy of visions and revelations they have never seen or heard. They speak foolishness made up in their own lying hearts.
False prophecy or interfering God's process is an affront to God's sovereignty. But God doesn’t just punish the false prophet, He also deals with those who are influenced by them.
Jeremiah 14:16 (NLT)
As for the people to whom they prophesy—their bodies will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and war. There will be no one left to bury them. Husbands, wives, sons, and daughters—all will be gone. For I will pour out their own wickedness on them.
No, I am not easily offended: I am provoked and harassed every day all day long, by the multitude of this city and surrounding cities, as they seek to control the Holy Spirit.
It is wicked to perpetuate that which God hates. Not only has this city’s blind guides misled her to misjudge me; but, in interfering in true prophecy, they have blatantly lied on God. Yet, they rebelliously persist, even allowing those false prophets to convince them that they should not bring an offering to this woman of God; because, according them, I'm just trying to get money. Wow! That's a crazy accusation to levy against any elder woman of God who has been living on the streets, right in their midst, for 3½ years. This same elder whom they have been wickedly compassing about, trying in vain, to quench the Holy Spirit for a piece of metal. Meanwhile, those whose mansions, Maybachs, mega Churches, and temple whores, that those who embrace their blind guides' ideology go fund, continue to turn a blind eye. Even joining them in robbing God, as scripture says. Don't be so easily offended. I am just being obedient to God: "Tell My people about their sins." If you're going to be offended at all, be offended by your sin. For it is sin that is offensive.
Nevertheless, what I have spoken is not at all of my own spirit, nor is it rooted in greed: it's nothing new; their preists should know that.
Job 42:8 (NLT)
"So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.”
God did this to cleanse their perverted offering. Moreover, as is upheld in the New Testament, those who wrongly accused Job had to "reconcile to their brethren:" Job 42:11.
Compassing, harassment, begrudgedness, or injustice of any kind, and needless to say, manipulating to exploit the Holy Spirit, only serve to pervert justice. But, when the offenders in this city learn the truth about their behavior, they increase their attacks, which adds to the injustice; thereby, defiling the land all the more. Where justice is perverted, offering is also perverted. A perverted offering cancels all legitimate claim to reward; so that any access to it is theft from God.
Here's the thing, God has blessed us with "free will" to either choose His way or not; howbeit the consequence for our choice rest with Him. Just as a city deliberately chose to gather together against; they could have deliberately chosen to gather together to bless. God knows the motives in both.
Given all the wrong that this city has done to others, the fact that she stubbornly persists in her "Holier than thou" behavior, speaks volumes of her true character.
Declare to My people THEIR rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob THEIR sins.
