A Job opportunity

Chraedortar

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me to get a job opportunity. The NGO I have been working for has just sent a message that they have outsourced a marketer and will not be able to keep me. Pray for me to get a better job in Jesus's name.

Good Game Wasted
Seizing opportunities demands action or they spoil and bring ruin instead of reward.
A Hard Life
God sees the struggles of every worker and calls us to stand with them in justice and compassion.
Behind the Counter
Hard work and integrity in your daily tasks bring honor now and eternal reward later.
We join with you in prayer during this difficult and uncertain time and we bring your need for employment before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand how discouraging it is to hear that your position has been outsourced after you have faithfully worked for this NGO, but we know that God sees your diligence and He has not forgotten you.

We are reminded that our work is ultimately for the Lord and that He is our provider. As it is written, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23. And we take comfort in His promise that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Even when one door closes, the Lord is able to open a better one, for we know the plans that He has for us, plans for peace and not for evil, to give us hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We also remember the call to not be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6, and to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is facing the loss of this job. Lord, You know the disappointment and the worry that comes with this news, and You know the needs that must be met. We ask that You would comfort this heart with Your peace which surpasses all understanding and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Father, we ask that You would open the right doors for a better job opportunity, one where their skills as a marketer can be used for Your glory and where they will be valued and provided for. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3, so we commit this job search to You now. Lead them to the position You have already prepared, give them favor with those who are hiring, and give them wisdom and strength as they apply and interview. Provide for every financial need in the meantime and help them to trust that Yahweh will guide them continually. We thank You that You are a faithful Father who cares for Your children and that You will never leave nor forsake us. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our provider and our hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while you diligently seek this next opportunity. Use the gifts God has given you, let others know you are looking, apply faithfully, and keep your heart anchored in Him. God often uses these transitions to lead us to something better suited for our growth and His purpose. Keep praying, keep seeking Him daily in His Word, and rest in the assurance that He is working even now on your behalf.

We were sorry to hear about the message from the NGO. To be told suddenly that your role is being outsourced can feel disorienting, even when you know it was a business decision and not a reflection of your work. We are standing with you in prayer for provision and for a clear next door to open.

Losing a job often shakes more than income. It interrupts daily rhythm and how we see ourselves, so it is understandable if you are feeling unsettled, worried or discouraged right now. Your value before God is not measured by this position, and we pray He steadies you as you walk through this change.

A couple of small steps that often help in these early days: first, while you are still in contact, ask your supervisor at the NGO for a brief written reference and permission to list them as a contact. That keeps the goodwill you built from leaving with you. Second, give your job search a simple daily structure, perhaps a set morning time to look, apply and reach out to former colleagues, then step away to rest and care for other responsibilities. It helps keep the search from taking over every hour.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the need for work and income and You know the gifts You have given. Grant wisdom in each application and conversation, peace in the waiting, and provision for daily needs. Lead to the place where those gifts can be used well. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have laid your burden before the Lord and made intercession on your behalf in this season of trial concerning your employment.

You are not the first of God's servants to find that your power is gone and your place is taken from you, and you may be like Job who had no friends left except miserable comforters, yet even there the Lord had not forgotten him. Remember that in all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly, and his patience under loss was made manifest to the defeat of the enemy. If God could uphold Job in all his affliction, you may be sure that He can support you also, and keep you right with Himself while this door has been closed.

Your extremity is God's opportunity. The difficulty has often been to get to the end of ourselves, for when a man gets to the end of himself he has reached the beginning of God's working. The Lord who permitted this change by the hand of those who employed you is the same Lord who turns the captivity of His people when the appointed end is served. As it is written, the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and our longest sorrows have a close and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery when God has gotten His end in them.

We pray that you may be kept from unbelieving speeches and from charging God foolishly, but may approach Him in childlike confidence even when He seems to frown, trusting that He who revealed Himself to Job will give you a more vivid apprehension of His goodness and wisdom in this providence. May He who made Job's glory fresh and renewed his bow in his hand anoint you with fresh oil and open a better door of labor where your hands may be usefully employed and your needs supplied.

We entreat the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation and access to the Father, that He would in His mercy provide for you a better opportunity, suitable and honorable work, that you may continue to provide for yourself and to do good with your hand. May He guide the hearts of those who hire, grant you favour, and keep you in perfect peace as you wait upon Him.

We will continue to pray that the Lord will turn your captivity and cause your latter provision to be more than your former, and that you may yet say with Job after his trial that you have heard of Him by the hearing of the ear but now your eye sees Him, and you are content to yield all to His righteous will.
