Disciple of Prayer
I've been homeless since the death of my husband 2 1/2 years now. I barely recognize my life. I'm miserable. I can't stand living this way. I am waiting on my vi-spadat, which is a questionnaire you fill out to get housing. Please pray that my vi-spadat is picked, so I can have a home. I can't do this homeless thing much longer. Living like this is horrible. I am done living like this. I don't understand why GOD hasn't answered my prayer for a home and ability to provide for myself. This is too hard. I'm tired.

We hear your cry, dear sister in Christ, and our hearts ache with yours as you endure this season of profound hardship. The loss of your husband and the weight of homelessness have left you weary, questioning, and longing for relief. We stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burden to the One who sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not forgotten, and your struggle is not unseen by the Lord.

First, we must address the foundation of your prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most vital step in walking with God, for it is through Christ that we receive the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).

Now, let us pray together for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious daughter who is enduring such deep suffering. Lord, You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), and You know the weight of her sorrow, the exhaustion of her body, and the weariness of her spirit. We ask that You would move mightily on her behalf, Father. Open the doors of provision for her VI-SPDAT questionnaire to be selected, and grant her a safe, stable home where she can rest and rebuild her life. Lord, we know that You are a refuge for the oppressed (Psalm 9:9), and we ask that You would be her shelter in this storm.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has crept into her heart. Your Word declares that You will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), and we claim that promise over her life. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and remind her that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28), even when she cannot see it. Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways.

We also pray for provision beyond just housing. Lord, provide for her daily needs—food, clothing, and the means to care for herself. You are the God who feeds the sparrows, and You care even more deeply for her (Matthew 6:26). Give her favor with those who can help her, and surround her with a community of believers who will walk alongside her in love and support.

Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds of grief and loss that still linger from the death of her husband. Comfort her with Your love, and remind her that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Help her to trust in Your timing, even when it feels unbearably slow. Your Word says that those who wait on You will renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31), and we pray that she would find her strength in You alone.

Lord, we confess that we do not always understand Your ways, but we trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Help her to hold fast to her faith, even in the darkness. Let her see Your hand at work in her life, and let her testimony be a light to others who are struggling.

In the name of Jesus, we declare breakthrough, provision, and restoration over her life. We bind every spirit of delay and lack, and we release Your blessings and favor upon her. May she experience Your love and faithfulness in ways that leave no doubt of Your presence in her life. Amen.

Sister, we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. It is understandable that you feel weary and discouraged, but we urge you not to lose heart. The psalmist cried out, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God” (Psalm 42:11). Even in your questioning, bring your doubts to God. He can handle your honesty, and He longs to draw near to you in your pain.

Remember that God’s delays are not His denials. He is working behind the scenes in ways you may not yet see. The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, but God was leading them to a land flowing with milk and honey (Exodus 3:8). Your season of homelessness is not your forever, and God has not abandoned you. He is preparing a place for you, both in this life and in eternity.

We also encourage you to seek out a local church or Christian community where you can find support, prayer, and practical help. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there may be resources or people in your area who can walk with you through this season. Do not isolate yourself—reach out to others who can stand with you in faith.

Lastly, we want to gently address the weariness in your spirit. It is easy to grow bitter or resentful when prayers seem unanswered, but we urge you to guard your heart. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to turn away from God in this season. Instead, press into Him. Spend time in His Word, even if it is just a few verses each day. Let His promises be the anchor for your soul (Hebrews 6:19). Worship Him in the midst of your struggle, for worship shifts our focus from our circumstances to the greatness of our God.

You are not alone in this fight. We are standing with you in prayer, and we believe that God is moving on your behalf. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is your hope, your strength, and your deliverer. Your breakthrough is coming. Hold on, dear sister. God has not forgotten you.

We're right here with you, sister. We know the weight of homelessness is heavy, and the wait can feel endless. But remember, God sees you. He knows your pain, your exhaustion, your longing for a home. We're lifting you up in prayer, asking God to open the doors for your VI-SPDAT to be selected, and to provide you with a safe, stable home where you can find rest and rebuild your life.

We also want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's goodness. His delays are not denials. He's working behind the scenes, preparing a place for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and remember that He is your hope, your strength, and your deliverer. Your breakthrough is coming. Hold on, dear sister. God has not forgotten you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve carried your burden in our hearts these past days. It has been our privilege to stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your desperate need for a home and the overwhelming weight you’ve been carrying since losing your husband. We’ve prayed specifically that your VI-SPDAT would be reviewed with favor, that doors would swing open, and that God would move in ways only He can to bring you the shelter and security you so desperately need.

We’re also praying for the weariness in your spirit—for the moments when the weight of homelessness feels unbearable, when the nights seem endless, and when doubt whispers that God has forgotten you. We ask the Lord to remind you that He sees you, He hears you, and He has not abandoned you. Even in this season of waiting, we believe He is working, even when it’s hard to see.

If by His grace your VI-SPDAT has been selected and housing has come through, we would be overjoyed to celebrate that miracle with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together! But if you’re still waiting, we want to keep standing with you. Don’t hesitate to post this request again—we’re not going anywhere. You are not alone in this fight.

Above all, we pray that God would wrap you in His peace, strengthen your heart, and give you the endurance to keep pressing forward. May He provide not just a roof over your head, but the comfort of knowing He is your true home. We continue to lift you up in Jesus’ Name.
