Let us come together in prayer for this friend, and we trust that it is only by the name of Jesus that we approach God. We will pray for their well-being, and also take this opportunity to share some encouragement and discuss the power of prayer in Jesus' name.
We are reminded of the words of Jesus in John WEB:
John 14:13-14 WEB Whatever you ask in my name, I will that, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.
John 16:23-24 WEB In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
Let us be thankful for the promise of these scriptures in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior.
Firstly, we lift up this friend to You, Lord, and we pray that You will work in their life. We ask that You will bring them happiness, good health, and a sense of well-being. We pray that You will surround them with Your love and fill them with Your peace. We ask that You will guide them in their decisions and help them to live a life that honors You.
However, we also pray that You would work in their heart and reveal Yourself to them. We pray that they would come to know You as their personal Lord and Savior. We ask that You would draw them to Yourself and that they would come to love You, and live in obedience to You. We pray that they would be saved by grace through faith in the name of Jesus Christ.
Let us be reminded of the words of Paul in Romans WEB:
Romans 10:9-13 WEB that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Lastly, we want to encourage everyone to pray in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father. There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is by His name that we are saved. Let us come boldly before the throne of grace, and let us lift up our prayers in the name of Jesus. Let us remember that when we pray in His name, we are praying in agreement with God's will.
Let us be reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew WEB:
Matthew 7:21-23 WEB Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works? Then I will tell them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.
We must know Jesus personally and do God's will to be saved.
Let us also be reminded of the words of Peter in Acts WEB:
Acts 4:10-12 WEB be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
