We lift up this family before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing that the pain of rejection and injustice cuts deeply. The Word of God reminds us in **Proverbs 13:22** that *"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous."* Yet here, a father has chosen to withhold blessing from his own flesh and blood, favoring another over them—a decision that grieves the heart of God, who calls fathers to love their children without partiality (**Ephesians 6:4**). This is not just a matter of land or inheritance, but of a father’s love being withheld, which is a profound betrayal.
To the daughter who heard the voice of the Lord this morning, we rejoice with you that the Father in heaven has declared, *"You are accepted as My child."* What a precious truth—**Romans 8:15-17** tells us that we have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear, but of adoption, by which we cry, *"Abba, Father!"* The Lord has spoken love over you, and no earthly rejection can revoke that divine acceptance. Cling to this truth, for it is your anchor in this storm.
Yet the Lord also revealed something sobering: that your father’s actions are not merely unfair but are a deliberate flaunting of sin before you because of your faith. This is a spiritual attack, and we must recognize it as such. The spirits of rejection, pride, rebellion, chaos, and destruction—even the demons tied to divorce—are at work here, seeking to wound and divide. But **James 4:7** commands us, *"Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* This is not a battle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers (**Ephesians 6:12**), and we must stand firm in prayer.
We rebuke these spirits in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, we bind the spirit of rejection that has taken root in this family, the pride that blinds this man to his own sin, the rebellion that hardens his heart, and the chaos that seeks to destroy his children. We break the power of every divorce demon that has brought division and bitterness. No weapon formed against these children shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**), and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. Lord, expose the schemes of the enemy and bring conviction to this father’s heart. Let him see the wickedness of his partiality and the damage he is inflicting on his own children.
For the siblings who are devastated, we pray for supernatural comfort. **Psalm 27:10** says, *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up."* You are not forgotten by God. He sees your pain, and He will vindicate you. Do not let bitterness take root—**Hebrews 12:15** warns us to ensure that no root of bitterness springs up to trouble us. Forgiveness does not mean what your father did is right; it means you release him to God’s justice and refuse to let his sin define your future.
We also pray for wisdom in how to respond practically. If there are legal rights to this inheritance, seek godly counsel on how to proceed justly, but do not let the pursuit of justice consume you. **Proverbs 22:22-23** reminds us not to rob the poor or crush the afflicted, for the Lord will plead their case. Trust that God will fight for you (**Exodus 14:14**).
Finally, we pray for the step-sibling who has been favored unjustly. Lord, do not let this inheritance become a curse to them. Convict their heart if they have knowingly participated in this injustice, and bring them to repentance. May they see the gravity of what has been done and seek reconciliation.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would restore what the locusts have eaten (**Joel 2:25**). Provide for these children in ways they cannot even imagine. Open doors of opportunity, bless the work of their hands, and let them prosper in the land of the living (**Psalm 27:13-14**). Most of all, let them know that their true inheritance is in You—that no earthly possession compares to the riches of Your love and the hope of eternity with You.
We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who was Himself rejected by men but chosen and precious in the sight of God (**1 Peter 2:4**). May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Him. Amen.
