A computer-clan member of ours =UNDERSTATED= is at wit's end! A "Third World" inhabitant / member, he is -in many respects- being DICTATED an =undesirable= "lot in life" for him and HIS (Kin) / totally alien to the average Westerner! Past - and PRESENT succumbed illness in the family, has taken its toll =compounded= his / their -already- difficult, meager existence! At the tender age of TWENTY-SIX, being the SOLE provider of his immediate family unit, consisting of his '3' younger brothers, his grandmother, and on again / off again (?), aged parents - they are " in hock [DEBT] , up to their EYEBALLS ! " Bill Collectors, bad dreams / NIGHTMARES, and SEVERE migraines beplague him! This once respectable college graduate / turned IT technician (Computer industry) -because of the "cards dealt him"- finds himself a demoted, lowly, OVERqualified, mundane telemarketer, now - who makes a '45' minute near-daily commute, to and fro / on FOOT to his phone bank cubicle, and back / 9:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. (TEN hours) ! [The family - having been =ostracized= for their in-the-minority FAITH - allocated themselves -years ago- to a domicile a few miles OUTSIDE the community at large!] Our INDIAn protagonist's only aspiration is family betterment - =nothing= for himself! He has sent out HUNDREDS of lifelines ... resumes which have gone, unanswered! He =desperately= desires to "set up house" / establish himself =HERE= as an emigre financial go-between - EVEN IF THAT MEANS an American "lucrative'' janitorial position! As he himself has stipulated - NOTHING is BENEATH him! *** [uPDATE] It -now- LOOKS as though a younger brother of -three- who recently contracted / was diagnosed with TB / Second Stage - whose initial treatments were administered under further financial duress - has 'taken a turn for the worst'(?)! ... PERHAPS, because the required medication could no longer be afforded - through borrowing / a LONG "bar tab" to sort of speak! My ... OUR brother in need CANNOT bring himself to confide the details ... NOR his =identity= at -this- time! *** Is there ANYONE out there, who could lend a "sympathetic ear" and =HELP= ??! Maybe a fellow compatriot who knows =firsthand= of these misfortunes and could even lend a helping hand -in essence SPONSORSHIP- or at least "show him the ropes" / Provide him with the wherewithal on how to come to America ... CANADA ... or the like! Something as simple as a =viable= computer ''cottage industry'' might even fill the gap! As the saying goes, our brother wants a hand UP - not a =handout= ! His mantra / role model - after CHRIST - is Will Smith's portrayal in "The Pursuit of Happiness" ! WON'T SOMEONE HELP ? ! [ CONFIDENTIALLY - I have GOOD REASON, to =FEAR= for his WELL-BEING ! ]
