Let us pray.
Merciful Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We are grateful that You have given us access to You through Him. Your word assures us that we have access in confidence by the faith of Him. Only by His name can we be saved. We desire to walk with You and with each other, guided by Your Spirit. We pray that You will order our steps, that our feet may journey together in Your path, that You will guide us in Your truth. Your Word tells us that two are better than one. They have a more satisfying return for their labor because if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and does not have another to lift him up. In the same way, if two lie down together, then they will keep warm, but how can one keep warm by himself? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves, but a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Father, unite our hearts, that we may be as one, even as Jesus prayed for us in John 17:21, that we all may be one; even as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us; that the world may believe that You sent Me. Let our ears be attentive to Your voice. Help us respect each other and listen. Then give success to the work of our hands.
We pray for purity in our interactions with each other. May we glorify You in our relationships, fleeing from any semblance of sin. If we are to consider each other as a spouse, may we do so in purity, saving intimacy for marriage, as You have instructed us in Ephesians 5:3, that we allow no immoral talk among us, nor any impurity or greediness. We desire to be imitators of You, as beloved children, and walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance. If we are not married to each other in a relationship, then may we practice self-control and abstain from all sexual sin.
If Your Holy Spirit is not in us, then let us first seek You. If we believe that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. For it is with our heart that we believe unto righteousness; and with our mouth that we confess.
