We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with drug addiction that the father of your daughter is facing. We commend you for your faith in God's healing power and for seeking prayer and support. Let us stand with you in prayer and in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to salvation and freedom. Remember, it is by the name of Jesus Christ that we must come to God the Father for all of our requests, as it is written:
"In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you." John 16:23 WEB
"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 WEB
Firstly, we acknowledge that addiction is a form of bondage that can be broken only through the power of Jesus Christ. This is a spiritual battle, and we must put on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil.
"For we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12 WEB
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the father of these daughters who is struggling with drug addiction. We acknowledge that this is a spiritual battle, and we put on the full armor of God to stand against the devil's schemes. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask that You would grant him the strength to seek help and the courage to turn away from his old ways. Surround him with godly influences and bring people into his life who will support him and hold him accountable. We ask that You would help him to overcome and become a clean vessel of Your Holy Spirit.
We pray for his salvation, that he would come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We ask that You would draw him to Yourself and that he would experience the transforming power of Your love.
We also pray for his daughters, that they would be protected from the effects of this addiction and that they would come to know You as their Heavenly Father. We ask that You would bring healing and restoration to their family. Father we ask that you bring a believing Christian spouse into his life if that is your will and heal any brokenness.
We stand in faith, believing that You are able to do abundantly more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to stand strong in your faith, and trust that God is at work in this situation. Remember that God's word is clear that He desires for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
"This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3-4 WEB
Finally resist any thoughts that are contrary to godliness.
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB
