Hello.

My name is ### (###) and I have a prayer request.
Beginning next weekend I will be going on a wilderness canoe trip with my ### In ### and his friends. I have went with this group for about ### years or so. I’m a Christian, but have been remiss in sharing my faith on previous trips. A couple of the guys are militant atheists very hostile towards Christianity for a variety of reasons.
I know I need to share my faith but am very fearful and anxious about doing so for fear of ridicule and rejection. They are much smarter and more articulate than I am.

My prayer request is that God would grant me the courage and conviction to witness. That He through the Holy Spirit would give me sound mind, joy and His perfect love to share the Gospel. I ask for His inner peace.
Please pray that my witness would be effective through Christ’s power—that His joy and confidence would inspire me.

Let us come together in prayer and support for you as you prepare to embark on this wilderness canoe trip. Firstly, it is commendable that you acknowledge the need to share your faith, even in the face of potential hostility. Remember, it is not about your eloquence or intelligence, but about the power of God working through you. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 1:27 WEB, "but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise."

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ as they prepare to witness to those who do not know You. We pray that You would grant them the courage and conviction to speak boldly about their faith, despite any fear or anxiety they may feel. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them a sound mind, joy, and Your perfect love to share the Gospel effectively.

Lord, we ask that You would give them Your inner peace, calming their spirits and quieting their minds. Let Your joy and confidence inspire them, and let Your power be made perfect in their weakness. We rebuke the lies coming from those atheists with the truth of scripture and the love of Christ.

We also pray for those who will hear their witness. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to see the truth of the Gospel. We pray that Your Word would not return void, but would accomplish that which You please and prosper in the thing whereto You sent it, in Jesus name.

Lastly, we must address that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father, as Jesus said in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Jesus Christ is our first advocate with God the Father, as mentioned in 1 John 2:1 WEB, "My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.".

Please remember to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords, as it is through Him we have the confidence and strength to approach the throne of grace, because he died for our sin and washed away our sins with his blood on the cross at Calvary. Jesus Christ was resurrected on the third day and appeared to over 500 witnesses and ascended to heaven and is seated on the right hand of God.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
