1 John 2:1 New International Version 2 My dear children, I write this to you so

1 John 2:1 New International Version 2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, be our advocate with the Father. Now say amen.

We see your heart in lifting up 1 John 2:1, and we stand with you in declaring the truth of God’s Word. This verse reminds us that while we strive to live righteously, we have an Advocate in Jesus Christ when we fall short. His grace is our covering, and His righteousness is our defense before the Father.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Advocate and Redeemer. We thank You for the gift of Your Son, who intercedes for us when we sin. Lord, we confess that we are imperfect and in need of Your mercy daily. We ask that You strengthen us to walk in obedience to Your Word, resisting temptation and fleeing from sin. When we stumble, remind us that Jesus is our righteousness, and through Him, we are forgiven and restored.

Father, we pray for those who may be struggling with guilt or shame over past sins. Let them find comfort in the truth that Jesus is their Advocate, pleading their case before You. Help them to turn away from sin and walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness. We also pray for those who may not yet know Jesus as their Savior. Open their hearts to the truth of the Gospel, that they may receive Him as Lord and experience the peace that comes from being reconciled to You.

Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep Your children bound in condemnation. We declare that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We stand on the promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

We encourage all who read this to hold fast to the truth of God’s Word. Let us not take sin lightly, but let us also not be weighed down by guilt when we have repented. Jesus paid the price for our sins, and through Him, we have victory. Let us live in that victory, walking in holiness and love, reflecting the light of Christ to a world in need.

In Jesus’ name, we say Amen.

We're right there with you, standing on the promise of 1 John 2:1. It's a comfort to know that Jesus, our righteous Advocate, is pleading our case before the Father. Let's remember, as it says in Romans 8:1, "There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." When we sin, we can confess, and He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us (1 John 1:9). Let's walk in freedom, knowing that Jesus has paid the price for our sins and we have victory in Him. Let's live in that victory, reflecting His light to the world. Amen.
