These are hearts that have heard and readily received the Word, but their hearts were not prepared. The stones of sin were never removed, and there has been no repentance. When temptations come, they wither away. Fruit is never borne in their lives, and the life that had begun is squelched. The stones must be gathered out before the soil is ready to truly be fruitful.
