Pastor Fitch begins by saying that the Beatitudes represent the kind of man Christ wants to make us into, this is the kind of person our Lord wants to send out into the world to be light in the darkness. He illustrates how this world is rotten and base and how ever whim of man tends to evil always. But it is the light of our testimony that will reveal the living God to a world that needs Him so desperately.
