F. J. Heugel traces through the most significant prayers of mankind, starting with Moses and on through David, Ezra, Daniel, Jesus and Paul. 'Prayers are still making history,' he asserts, pointing to answered prayer in World War I of the British capturing Jerusalem and how in World War II 'God was at Dunkirk' in response to a national day of prayer. 'It isn't prayer,' Heugel reminds us, 'it's the prayer-hearing God.'
