We live in a world where people often don t show their appreciation for anything we do for them. Through these experiences we can understand what Christ went through; very few times did He get recognized for anything He did. There are many reasons like this for discouragement, but Jesus promises that He will be with us until the end of the age. When we do mess up, we should repent right away and move forward, not dwelling on the past. He is always faithful.
