This session deals with what the early church believed, the early church believed what the early church fathers believed, this can be seen in several different sources, first the apostles creed is very good way of discovereing what the church believed. The early church also believed what was written in the new testament writtings and around the year 220AD there arose a need, because of the arising heresies for a collection of writings that was to be authorative above all other christain writings, these writings were detrermined by three factors. 1: It had to have been written by an apostle or someone in direct contact with one of the apostles. 2: It had to have inherent character and worthiness that was in line with accepted scriptures. 3: I must have been widely recognised by the church at large.
