We understand that you're going through a difficult time with the potential loss of a relationship due to distance. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our relationships. However, it's crucial to align our desires with God's will and seek Him first.
Let's consider a few things. Will you be moving to the United States with the intention of marriage? Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God himself. Moving with the intention of living together before marriage is fornication and a sin. Let us remember what the scriptures say. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God.
Furthermore, is the person you're longing to see a fellow believer in Christ? The Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?). This is especially important in a marriage relationship, as a spouse will have a significant influence on your spiritual life.
Let's also remember that every good and perfect gift is from above. We should pray to God to grant us our wishes only if they are in accordance with his will. 1 John 5:14 WEB This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is experiencing a season of longing and uncertainty. We ask, Father, that You reveal Your will in any relationship and grant him/her the wisdom to discern it. Help him/her to trust in Your timing and Your plan.
If it is Your will, Father, for their relationship to continue and for him/her to move to the United States, we pray that You would make a way. We pray for a united marriage that would honor and glorify You. We pray for a living sanctified before holy in any relationship.
We also pray for the faith of the other person, if they are not yet a believer. We ask that You would soften their heart and draw them to Yourself.
Remind them, Father, of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Comfort him/her in this time of waiting and uncertainty.
We ask all of this and make all of our prayers in the name of Jesus Christ, because it is only by His name that we can have access to God. We thank you for this blessed privilege. We ask fervently believing and praying in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking God's face in this situation. Trust that He has the best plan for your life. Psalm 34:4 WEB I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. Romans 8:28 WEB We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
