  1. When our life is falling down to pieces broken marriage, illness of all kinds, blindness coming to our eyes, someone dear died recently and our children are lost in this world.  Then it is time to call on the Lord.  He will hear from heaven and answer all our problems.  Jonah called out to God and said.  In my distress I called unto the Lord and He answered me.  From deep in the realm of dead, I called for help.  And You listened to my cry.  Jonah 2.2    When we feel all alone in this world and there is no one to help.  Call on the Lord, He is ready to help you out of your pains and your sorrow.   Remember this.  He will wipe out all the tears you our eyes when we get there.   In heaven we shall not have any pain at all.   Look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

  2. When people look at you, do they see a reflection of Jesus? As Christians, we are the representatives and ambassadors of Jesus to this world. It is our job to show Jesus to the world. Unfortunately, we are often as the scribes and Pharisees that Jesus spoke about, "So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach." (Matthew 23:3) Too often we fail to live what we preach.

"There once was an atheist (we will call him Frank) who was interested in becoming a Christian. The pastor of the nearby church, upon hearing that Frank was interested in Christianity, invited him to dinner. During dinner, the pastor talked to Frank about God, religion, and Christianity. Frank listened respectfully, liking what he heard. The pastor invited Frank to church the next day, and Frank accepted. The next day, Frank went to church. The pastor talked about God's love and how we should love our enemies. Frank listened to the sermon, amazed. He had never heard a pastor preach like this. He decided then and there to become a Christian. After the sermon, the church members stood and began to talk with each-other. Frank remained seated, listening. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. They were gossiping with and about each-other and making snide remarks about the pastor, etc. Frank rose, disappointed, and walked out of the church, an atheist."

Now, the story you have just read is fiction. But the story of Gandhi is not. Gandhi once said, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” How many times have we failed to adequately represent Christ?

Let's try to live more like Christ. Let's put our words into action and live what we preach. We need to preach not just with our words, but with our actions as well. Amen?

    God Bless You All!

  3. A believers walk with the Lord depends a great deal on who God is to the believer.  We have to settle it in our minds of who God is.  Is God good?  All the time?  If we see Him as being good sometimes, then we are like a ship tossed by the seas and going no where.  We waver in our faith.  When we are steadfast in our faith about who God is to us, then we will be able to move into the great things God wants us to move into. We need to settle it in our minds, and especially our actions, about whether or not "God is good, all the time".

  4. Why would Paul, Directly chosen by Christ to "stand before governors and kings" (Acts 9:15), ask "prayers for Kings and all in authority so we can lead a quiet life" (1 Timothy 2:1-4)? Then he refers to the fact this is "good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth..." The answer is that Paul knew what has already been written in Proverbs 11:10 and following and what God had to say about respecting the office of authority (whether you agree with the person appointed or not) and that this has a positional association with the land to some degree as to how well or poorly the land fares based on the actions of it's superiors...

"When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.
Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.
Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense, but the one who has understanding holds their tongue.
A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers" (Prov 11:10-14).

Praying for leaders, as the verses show above, has a trickle down effect... Pray for not only Trump, but the leaders of the Cities that have a high population of illegal immigrants... Again it's not whether one fully agrees with the human that has the office or not, as the example above denotes... Harry S. Truman had it best...

“When you get to be president, there are the honors, the 21-gun salutes,
all those things. You have to remember it isn't for you. It's for the presidency.”
Harry S. Truman -- the respect was not for Truan but for the God appointed office...

Pray for the president -- latest headlines... "New York City officials push back again st President Trump's immigration plans"
    http://abc7ny.com/politics/nyc-officials-push-back-against-trumps-immigration-plan/1721564/#

This is clearly a case of twisting history... Saying NY is a city for immigrants -- yes, LEGAL immigrants... Our forefathers applied for VISA'S and GREEN CARDS and respected their dates and deadlines... Pray for our country who knows not right from wrong and doesn't know how to respect law or executive orders.

Pray for President Trump who sees things in a clear, business-like way that we as a country can't afford to float the bill for people who do not want to take the time to get things in order or pay taxes for a number of years or go through the process to become a citizen once they are here or marry a citizen... These things were given as an aid to people becoming citizens but it has become a system that is abused... I know this is tricky but there are laws and they can't be jeopardized -- a little leaven leavens the whole lump -- Please pray for the President as God commands and for the country as conscience dictates the same -- Please forget our little petty requests for a while and pray for our country and leaders -- in Jesus' name.
