What is the state of our relationship with God? Are we conformed to the world while yet proclaiming His name? The Lord addresses this in Matthew 7:21-23. These Word’s are hard to read as it forces us to evaluate the depths of our hearts. Why is this important? Because too many seek out what they want to hear and follow those who will use this to establish themselves before men. Choosing not to seek His truth from God, but to heave their ears ‘itched’. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what they want their itching ears want to hear.” (2 Timothy 4:3).
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” (Matthew 7:21-23). Jesus is speaking to the crowd near the end of the Sermon on the Mount. It is a dire warning that there are many who profess His name, but will never enter the Kingdom of God! These are chilling word’s that should lead us all to examining our hearts. Who are these people that the Lord is referring to? How can anyone who professes Jesus Christ not have salvation? Let us examine this together.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” In professing “Lord, Lord’, we are acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and as committed believers, we truly mean it. This is saying that we have turned over to the Lord dominion over our lives…’Lordship’ over our lives. Surrendering all to His wisdom and authority. Seeking first the Will of God in our lives above our own. This is not true of many who proclaim His name. And their deeds and actions indicate otherwise. The true desires of their hearts cannot be hidden from the Lord. It means that lip service, ceremony and pretenses without true devotion and complete commitment to the Lord which is empty and void. Even Satan acknowledges the Lord! And where is his destiny? The Lord is indicating the spiritual state of those that will hear. There are two types of people that are seeking His kingdom on that great day of judgment. Those who have truly given Jesus Lordship over their lives and seek obedience to Him in all things, and those who have just declared His name as a ‘safe guard’ with self-serving and delusional motives. Taking the Word of God out of context and twisting it to serve their own agenda through personal interpretation and not though seeking the guidance and truths of the Holy Spirit. Personal interpretations do not reveal His truths. This only comes by the understanding of His Word by the Holy Spirit. “This is what we speak, not in words taught to us by Human wisdom but in Words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught Words.” (1 Corinthians 2:13). “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.” (2 Peter 1:20).
22 “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?” “Many!” This indicates that there is a VERY large number in this state of deception. They are involved in religious works. Prophesizing, healing, driving out demons and many other ‘miracles’ in His name. Building churches and ministries in His name. They claim a relationship with Him but the Lord turns them away. Having the wrong motives in seeking attention and their own glory and not the Lord’s, which is unacceptable to Him. God will not be mocked. “Do not be deceived: God will not be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7). “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (Isaiah 64:6). We are seeing this in the church today. Many, too many, using the Word of God and the name of Jesus for self gain. Interpreting His Word to serve their purpose deceiving many! How do we test the words of the spirits within them? Through His Word! “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but tests the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone into the world.” (1 John 4;1). So where do these abilities to do miracles come from. There are two elements to this: First, God is mysterious at times in His ways and purpose. God will empower unbelievers to perform the deeds for His sovereign Will and purpose. An example is Judas. As he walked with the Lord, he was given the same abilities to perform miracles as the others until he was overcome by Satan. There is nothing in scripture that contradicts this. Secondly, and mostly the case, Satan and his minions. They will do all they can to deceive as many as possible by imitating that which is of God. Again, God allows this for His purpose and Will. Not understanding why and how He does this does not negate His purpose and Will, which can be beyond our understanding. Can Satan perform these things? Consider the Word of God: “And no wonder, for Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light”. (2 Corinthians 11:14).
23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ These ‘believers’ are not those who truly believe and lost their salvation. There salvation cannot be lost. These are those who were never saved at all and live in deception not only unable to understand the truths of His Word, but don’t even seek it. The Lord never ‘knew’ Him’ and they never truly ‘new Him’. “New’ them, refers to a personal relationship between themselves and the Lord. Therefore, the Lord casts them out!
The very sad part is that they have been blinded and turned over to their sins. “So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.” (Psalm 81:12). As true believers in the Lord, we should be compelled to pray and minister to these who the Lord speaks of. For NOTHING is impossible for the Lord, and He desires that all would be saved. “Who wants all to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4).
So what do we do? Constantly pray for the truths of the Word of God to be revealed to us through His Holy Spirit lest we be deceived. For our own personal relationship with Him, our salvation, and his guidance in ministering to those that are Lost. What is the Lord’s commission to each of us? To go forth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ…His truths. “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15). These Word's of God are not for condemnation, but out of great love for us...that none would be lost. These are the last days that we are living in. The Lord is telling us to get our houses in 'order'. And we must hear His Word's as a cry of His Love for us...and to be thankful!
As always, your comments are always welcomed and appreciated.

Finally I have found a place of rest for my weary soul. My heart was filled with hope and trust for the future. This world is not my home. I am just passing through. The Prince of Peace who was foretold has come to all of us. Open your heart, mind and soul.. We all belong in the arms of our loving and kind heavenly Father. Father we honor you in this place for letting a few of your believing children get together one more time. Thank you for being the God of the former and the ladder rains. You see the dryness and the pests that have crept in - to destroy us. You know the feeling of loss, you know the feeling of hurt.
You promised that if we just be faithful, even when the locusts are in our lives, that you would let us eat in plenty. You promised to let us be satisfied. You see the dissatisfaction in this place. You see the unfulfilled needs and unfulfilled expectations at this altar.
I pray now LORD, for total restoration. Restoration of dreams that are now cold. Restoration of relationships that are not like they used to be. Restoration of joy that is now abated. Restoration of expectations that are now aborted.
GOD you know us; You know the number of hairs upon our heads. You know our thoughts from afar off. You know we have a need before we ask it. Now LORD, I pray that you heal and deliver. I humble myself on behalf of these your people. LORD, begging and asking thee to have mercy upon us. LORD, you are our fortress, and beside you, there is none other.
YOU know all about it LORD. LORD, like never before, somebody needs you. Somebody feels like giving up. But LORD, your Word tells us that if we cast our cares on you, that you do care for us. So LORD, open up the floodgates of Heaven. Look at what we need. Look at our hurts. We give you permission to come on in the room. We know you're already here, but let your present will be made manifest in every life. LORD, we need you right now.
And we thank you in advance. We thank you for VICTORY. We see the years coming back, we see the tears being wiped away. We see the relationships being restored. We see it, we believe it, we decree it. IN THE NAME OF JESUS! Give HIM glory!!!

(Thank you Pastor Smith)
One of the many prayers, given by Pastor Smith, through which I find encouragement. I pray that it blesses and encourages you as well; Particularly the desolate and destitute among us, whose lives have taken an unexpected detour from God's promise of profit and peace.
Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together to the good of those who love the LORD; those who are the called, according to HIS purpose.

Those who have been called and chosen by God are not just a threat, but a weapon against the enemy of God, Satan. Satan is God’s enemy and the enemy of your soul if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Satan hates you and he will use anyone who will let him (including Christians) be a tool in spiritual warfare to fight against you. But rest assured child of God that the Lord is on your side. God is with you as a mighty warrior, and no weapon formed against you will ever prosper.Always remember not to focus on the enemy. But keep your focus (mind) stayed on God and trust Him (Isaiah 26:3). Rebuke the spirit of fear. God has not given you the spirit of fear, but love, power, and a sound mind (2 Tim.1:7). Draw near to God and God will draw near to you, get serious with God, don’t dabble in sin, guard your heart, and don’t be double-minded (James 4:8). Commit to reading and meditating upon God’s Word daily (Joshua 1:8). Develop your prayer life (learn how to pray for you). Always submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4: 7). And trust the Lord as your only protector (Psalm 25:15). Once you and I understand the spiritual dangers we face on a daily basis, we will keep our focus on God, because God alone has the power to protect and deliver us.Isaiah 54:17: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.Jeremiah 20:11-12: But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten. But, O Lord of host, You who test the righteous, and see the mind and heart, Let me see Your vengeance on them; for I have pleaded my cause before You.
2 Timothy 1:7: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Let’s Pray The Word: God I ask You in Jesus’ name honor Isaiah 54:17 and Jeremiah 20:11-12 over the life of the writer of this prayer and my life today, tomorrow, and for always. Be with the both of us as a mighty (warrior) awesome one. Let no weapon that is formed against us ever prosper. Cause our enemies to stumble, and not prevail. Every tongue that shall rise up against us in judgment, God You condemn. Let our enemies be known for what and who they are. Cause our enemies to be greatly ashamed. Let them not prosper and let their everlasting confusion never be forgotten. Let us see Your vengeance on them; for we have pleaded our cause before You. Let this be our inheritance. Because we are not only Your children and servants, but because You call us Your friend. May we always love You with our lives (with all our heart, soul, mind, body, and all our strength). And may we always purpose in our hearts to live our lives to honor and please You in spite of what the enemy of our soul attempts to do or who allows him to use them. Thank You Jesus for loving us and protecting us. Thank You for not giving us the spirit of fear, but blessing us with power, love, and a sound mind. Thank You Jesus for blessing our enemies by showing them that You take care of what belongs to You. We belong to You. And may one day they come to accept You as Savior and Lord. Thank You God for honoring this prayer over our lives today, tomorrow, and for always. Amen, So Be It And It Is So In Jesus’ Name.
